Our Mission

People 1st is a non-profit corporation providing a community that supports men who have demonstrated a substantial commitment to their own sobriety by having completed an extended rehab program. This community provides ongoing support and encouragement to stay sober around three major themes; renew, restore and rebuild.

Renew

Addictions tend to destroy health, friendships and self confidence. We review each of these areas with each member seeking to identify specific issues. We then sponsor and connect our men to programs, training and approaches to provide renewal in each of these areas as part of their ongoing recovery process.

Restore

Addictions also damage areas such as finances and family relationships. While not all relationships can be restored, we offer assistance to each man’s restoration efforts. In the financial area, we provide basic training as well as individualized discussions about ways they can strengthen their financial position and achieve their financial goals.

Rebuild

Once the destructive aspects of the addictions are being addressed, we begin exploring how each man would like to rebuild their life; job and other skills, stable living arrangements, relationships, leisure pursuits and their long term plan. We then assist him in connecting to external resources related to the achievement of each of his goals.

In the Grocer case the intent is to lower the premium city residents currently pay for food and thereby eliminate a food inequality.

This will enable them to have daily interactions with others on the same sobriety journey as they are on. This is an indoor vertical farm that uses organic techniques to grow produce.
